Maroon and White Honeycomb Blank

from $14.00

These pen blanks are a true masterpiece! Crafted with high-pressure cast Alumilite resin and Eye Candy pastes of exceptional quality, these colorful honeycomb blanks promise to catch the eye of anyone who lays eyes on them. The stunning Marron and white tones of these blanks are made in the colors of Texas A&M. Each blank is unique, many sizes to fit any of your turning needs.

For optimal results, we recommend applying a CA finish to these blanks. Please note that these blanks are best suited for experienced turners who are comfortable with light cuts and sharp tools. While some chips outs may occur during the turning process, these blanks are well worth the effort, resulting in pens that are truly remarkable. To minimize the risk of chipping, consider applying thin CA glue before and during turning. You need to have a light touch and Very high speed. When you start, keep the chips that come off so you have them to replace any missing at the end. If you're making a pen or something similar in size, the chips at the beginning don't matter much, but save one or 2. Keep a soft but very sharp touch as you get down to the final size. I don't usually lose scales at this point, but I have a few times, so If you lose a scale, replace it with one you saved. Attach it with thick CA glue and activator. Once it is set completely, trim it with that very light touch. I finish mine with about eight coats of Medium Flex CA to ensure the scales never pop off.

The Alumilite Advantage is not to be underestimated! It's the best resin we've ever found for casting pen blanks. Not only is it a joy to turn, it also polishes up to a high gloss with ease. Finishing these blanks has never been simpler - just sand and polish with polishing papers, plastic polish, or buffing wheels.

Don't miss out on the chance to create a statement piece with these stunning honeycomb pen blanks.
